Movie - Elysium

Elysium is a film that released in August this year. It is a science fiction action-thriller film written , co-produced and directed by Neill Blomkamp. The flim is about both ravaged Earth and a luxurious space habitat called Elysium which it only allowed rich people to live in there and poor people only allowed to live in Earth. 

on the left is Earth, i assume that everyone knows that right? 

on the right is Elysium, the place that everyone wants to go. 

The main starring of this movie is Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. 

 Matt Damon. 

Matt Damon is just an ordinary guy in earth and work to live his life. But he have a dream that he will go to Elysium one day since he was small. He always thought that Elysium is a beautiful place and he wanted to live in there and no more struggle in his life. 

Jodie Foster, another main starring of this movie.

Jodie Foster is one of the controller of Elysium. She does not allow anyone and spaceship from Earth enter Elysium with strict security. She is very selfish woman and she planned to owned the whole Elysium. 

The story start off with when Matt is still young and he have a girl partner because both of them are orphan. Both of them have a dream that they wanted to go to Elysium when they grow up later. Matt promised her that he will bring her to Elysium one day. But they were separated after they grew up. Matt live alone and he worked so hard to raise himself. His job is in a radiancy factory to build the robots. 

One day, when he was doing his job as usual, sending the robots into the radiancy box. Suddenly, an incident happened which the door was stucked and the leader asked him to go inside and fix it up to not to delay the work. He refused but the leader told him he will fire him as a threatened. Matt decided to go inside to fix the door up because he got no choice. The door was fixed but unfortunately the door closed right after he fixed it. Matt was locked inside the radioactive box and his whole body got radiation cause the leader does not want to rescue him although he saw he was locked inside. Luckily, there are some other people rescued him out. 

There are saying that people who affected by the radiation will die after few days. Matt can't even walk properly and he was scared that he will die. Then, he was crazily finding ways to go to the Elysium because there is a machine that can cure all the diseases or sickness. 

this is the machine that all the poor people who are sick from the Earth want it.

People who want to get cure by this machine must have a Elysium residence id. 

  the guy on the left is Spider, Matt's friend.

Spider is the one who organize an spaceship company for poor people to go to Elysium. He got every equipment and devices to connect the spaceship. Matt went to ask for help from Spider because he do not want to die so easily in Earth. The tickets of the spaceship are not cheap and Matt does not have money to pay. So Spider offered him a job which is he want Matt to go to Elysium and change the whole system and let everyone in Earth can go to Elysium. 

Besides, Spider also help Matt to put on a so called costume on his body to support him as he is dying soon. As you can see from the movie poster at the beginning, there is a mini screen behind his head, that is where Spider gonna put a memory card in it and let Matt bring to Elysium and the memory card is the key to change the whole system.

the woman is the one with Matt when they are still young. 

Her daughter was having a illness that needed the machine to cure it. 

After a long war, finally Matt, Spider and the woman with her daugther got to go in Elysium because he exchange his memory card with Jodie as the memory card got the information that Jodie wants so badly. Unfortunately, Jodie died before she get the information she wants and she failed to become the people who control the Elysium. 

In the end, Matt changed the system successfully and now the Elysium are belongs to everyone no matter they are poor or rich. Matt sacrificed his life to save all the people from Earth. He fullfilled his own dream that he want to go to Elysium one day but he does not have the time to live and enjoy it. 

I have watched this movie and i think that the movie is good although it's a little bit of violence and disgusting but it still touched me at the last part. I will suggest you to watch if you havent watch yet :D

Korean Boy Band: Big Bang

Big Bang or Bigbang is a South Korean male group under the management of YG Entertainment. Formed in 2006, the group consists of G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri. Big Bang is known for their unique urban-originated music and fashion style. He started to join entertainment industries since he was 5 years old. At the age of eight he was under contract at SM Entertainment, but he decided to change record labels. After 6 years as a trainee under the record label YG Entertainment, G-Dragon officially debuted as the leader and one of two rappers for the Korean group Big Bang.

He has branched out to act in various dramas and films, including I Am Sam, Iris, Nineteen,71: Into the Fire and his upcoming movie, Alumni. Jeff Benjamin from the American music magazine Billboard noted that T.O.P is well known for his low-bass timbre rapping. 

He is well-known for his sexiest voice.

3rd  Seung-ri ( Lee Seung-hyun )

He is a singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, and model.
 Along with his native Korean, he speaks fluent Japanese and conversational English.Therefore he is always invited to show up in Japanese Variety Shows. Before joining the group, in his hometown, Gwangju, he was the leader and part of the dance group "II Hwa". Seungri is known for his dance skills. Although he was noticed for his dance skills, his lack of vocal skills led to him being eliminated. If he wasn't eliminated he would have debuted in "Battle" a group of 6 boys that each Shinhwa member picked out. themselves. He was later scouted by the record label YG Entertainment and joined the group Big Bang. 

He is famous both in Korea and Japan.

4th TaeYang ( Dong Young-bae )

He is a recording artist, model and actor.

 After appearing in Jinusean's music video "A-yo", Taeyang began training under YG Entertainment at the age of 12 alongside fellow member and leader G-Dragon. After six years of vocal and dance training, he made his debut in 2006 as a member of popular Korean boy band, Big Bang.

5th Daesung ( Kang Dae-sung )

He is a singer, variety host and occasional actor.
Since his debut, he has released a solo album, several singles, performed in musicals, acted in a dramaWhat's Up, became a fixed member of reality-variety television series Family Outing and talk show Night After Night. He was well known for his witty persona on television.

He is well-known both in Korea and Japan.

His small and tiny eyes makes him easily recognize and differentiate in Big Bang.

Drama Analysis - THE DREAM OF FLIGHT! ♥

Triumph in the skies - is a series of Hong Kong drama television which is produced by TVB that premiered in 2003.

This is a love story about how the little doll which called as "Triangel" linked with the two pilots and a pretty stewardess. The casts in the drama has literally brought the message about the importance of the pilot occupation. In the 40 episodes, the drama has fully described the passion of the youth to be succeed. The casts were also showed their determination in order to get the path of their flying dreams. They have poured their full effort to be a responsible pilot and went for the hard training in Australia. The production crew has took many pretty external photography in Japan, Italy and Australia. 

The story start from the pretty stewardess, Isabelle Lok (portrayed by Flora Chan) who are looking for the little doll- Triangel. 

The Senior Pilot, Samuel Tong (portrayed by Francis Ng) saw the post and he found the little doll in an old souvenir shop in Rome, Italy when he was outstation with his childhood best friend, Vincent Ling (portrayed by Joe Ma). 

At the same day, Sam met Isabelle and he picked Isabelle's bracelet in Rome. He returned the bracelet to Isabelle and they have the first sight of love. They enjoyed to be together for one day but they are still did not know each other even their own name.

The next day, Isabelle went to visit her cousin who was the coffee shop owner. The waitress who called as Donna was absent for work without any reasons. Thus, Isabelle decided to help out in the coffee with Donna's uniform. Sam went to the coffee shop and met Isabelle again. However, Sam misunderstood her name as "Donna". Isabelle was also misunderstood Sam, who help Vincent to left a note in coffee for his girlfriend, as Vincent. They did not show up in the last promised date. However, the conflicts between their love story starts and their love have to be stop due to the little misunderstanding. Few months later, Isabelle met Vincent in Rome and they were eventually fall in love with each other.

The story carried on with the love confusion between Sam and Isabelle. The confusion has brought arguments and hard feelings between three of them. Until the wedding eve of Vincent and Isabelle, Isabelle just found out that was a misunderstanding between her and Sam. However, she still decided to marry Vincent but with the memory of Sam in her heart.

On the other side, the problems were adding up into Sam's life when he met his fooling-around younger brother Issac Tong (portrayed by Ron Ng).

Issac was a cadet who joined the Solar Airlines Cadet Programme to be the pre-pilot. He met his best friends of five in the cadet program. They went through the challenges together no matter in the cadet program or in their life. Sam was their instructor and he became the first Chinese captain in Hong Kong.

The drama come to the climax when Vincent passed away in Italy due to accident. This lastly made Isabelle found out that Vincent was the one she loved. On the other hand, Sam was also found his true love and finally married the young girl, Zoe (portrayed by Myolie Wu), the airport server who admired Sam since they met each other. 

This is a brief synopsis of this drama. This drama was getting the highest rate of audience in Hong Kong and Mainland China for the year of 2003. The production crew was trying hardly to have the following sequel for this encouragement drama. However, they could not find any airlines to sponsor their drama production. Fortunately, Triumph in the Skies 2 was successfully produced at the end of 2012 and officially premiered on 15 July of 2013. 

In my personally opinion, I am strongly recommend this drama for the youth. This drama has brought different lessons to me. For instances, Issac who used to be careless, casual and fool around during classes, has paid off his effort on his study and finally he got the license to be a pilot.  

The conflicts between Sam and Vincent about their love story with Isabelle has shown how Sam try to protect his friendship and persist his love in memory in stead of getting together with Isabelle. 
Lastly, the issue of friendship has brought up in the drama which shown by Issac and his friends, they learnt how to tolerate each other when they got into conflicts or troubles.

However, it is a Contonese dialect drama. You are welcomed to watch the drama with the English Subtitle. Here's a short trailer of this drama in Cantonese dialect without any subtitles. (Sorry for any inconvenience caused.)

Movie - Prisoners

Prisoners is a new film which just released on 20 September 2013. This is a thriller and crime film directed by Denis Villeneuve. The audiences of this movie should be 18 and above as it consists of violence, horror, politics, religion and counter-culture.

The starring of this movie is:

Hugh Jackman  who starred in X-Men as Wolverine, Real Steel and  Les Misérables.

Jake Gyllenhaal who acted in Prince of Persia.

Hugh Jackman is a carpenter who named as Keller in Prisoners. He attends a thanksgiving meal with his family at a house of neighbourhood. When the wives are preparing deer meat which hunted by Keller's son for dinner, Keller's daughter, Anna Keller and her best friend, Joy Birch want to have a walk outside. Two little girls saw a RV that had been parked in their small-town and Anna is trying to climb the RV. Her brother saw it and Anna was forced to get down from that RV. After the meal, Anna wants to find her red safety whistle which Keller bought for her. Keller thought that Anna and Joy have their siblings' accompany. Actually Keller is wrong. Two little girls vanish and they suspect that camper in the RV. Keller made a phone call to the police station. 

Jake Gyllenhaal played the role as a famous detective who named as Detective Loki. He found the RV and catch the camper who is Alex Jones(starred by Paul Dano). Unfortunately, Alex Jones has IQ of 10-year-old and share no information about the two little girls. He has an aunt, Holly Jones(starred by Melissa Leo).

This is the scene where Detective Loki tries to ask the girls' whereabouts. 

Keller asked detective Loki to arrest Alex Jones but they have no evidence to charge him up. Then, detective Loki asked his boss to arrest Alex Jones for another day. Yet, his boss refused to do so. The next day, Keller knew that the police let Alex Jones go. He is very angry and head to the police station. 

Detective Loki is trying to calm Keller down. 

Keller uses his own way to search for his daughter and her best friends. He kidnapped Alex Jones and used violent actions toward Alex Jones. It's a false lead and nobody knows if Anna and Joy are dead or alive. Besides, detective Loki is trying his best to find the girls out. 

A dead body is found in an elderly priest's basement.

Then, a second young man, with a nervous manner and a haunted look, shows up at a vigil for the missing children and runs away into the night.

Detective Loki arrests him at his house and found out many luggages with snakes in it in this young's man house. Unfortunately, this young man commits suicide in the police station and leave an unfinish-maze. The investigation stops here.

Detective Loki doesn't give up. He tried to search for the girls based on the maze. The kidnapper is too smart to hide everything and detective Loki failed to search for any evidence. Joy Birch escapes from the kidnapper successfully but Anna Keller is still with the kidnapper. Keller knew who is the kidnapper according to what Joy told him before detective Loki. Keller rescued Anna alone without telling anyone, included detective Loki. He was asking to walk the hidden maze to rescue his own daughter. 

When the police failed to find Anna Keller and Alex Jones, the boss asked detective Loki to inform Holly Jones. He knocks the door but Holly Jones does not open the door for him. Luckily the door is unlock. So, detective Loki goes in and search for Holly Jones. This is where detective Loki found Anna Keller.

The story of this film is not the meaning of the title. This film is telling you how is the people become a prisoner. This film absorbs and controls your attention with such assurance that you hold your breathe for fear of distracting the people on screen. Prisoners is not a straight forward movie. You will need to think after you watch the movie. Some scenes do not tell you the meaning and you might think that they are so random but actually not. They are all connected.

I did some research for this film. The director says: "I thought this was a very powerful story that was saying accurate things about our society and our relationship with violence and torture." He also explained that this film is like reading a poetry, the poet wouldn't tell you what to think but he has an intention behind the poetry. Other than that, he added: "What I feel is, it's a movie about control and about what people do when they feel out of control, and that the individual cannot work by themselves and the institution cannot work by itself, the two have to work simultaneously, together, and without that happening, there's total chaos. And you try to get as much control of a chaotic situation, but ultimately, you need to rely on the institutions around you." 

I watched this movie few days ago with my dad. It's a nice movie for my dad and I. We love how to story goes. You should watch this movie too! :)

2013 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX OPENING CONCERT , BIGBANG

BIGBANG, a famous korean boys band have been invited as the guest to performing in the 2013 Formula Singtel Singapore Grand Prix Opening Concert at PADANG stage ( Zone 4 walkabout ) , Singapore on 20th September 2013. BIGBANG all together 9 months after last performance in ALIVE GALAXY WORLD TOUR encore concert that held in January this year, even though Big Bang members had a surprising performance together at G-Dragon’s last solo concert.

Before the opening concert start 2 days ago, there're extremely many fans ( called as VIPs ) started to queue outside the venue. The queue was getting longer when the time is closer to the time of starting of the opening concert. The fans even have the strength to queue overnight outside the venue just because they wanted to stand more front to getting closer with the artists, BIGBANG. The fans are not only from Singapore, there are also a lots of the fans from oversea such as, Korea, Malaysia, Japan, HongKong, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand and the others also came for this opening concert and queue for more than 48 hours. At the time of queuing, the fans will also take care each others even they just know each other at the venue or came from different country. 

20th September, finally the gate was opened, all the fans started to go in the venue, but since the opening concert will on start at 11.15 pm, so the fans still need to wait at least 8 hours more. Fans getting more and more in the zone, once the zone reached 5000 people, the gate will be closed even you are holding the ticket. The organizer was setting up the portable toilet in the venue because they wouldn't allow people to go out, outside foods and drink was not allowed too. The zone is getting crowd like the photo show at below.

STAGE OF 2013 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX OPENING CONCERT , BIGBANG  

In the hard time of the 8 hours, the fans just sat under the hot sun and without nagging, scolding because they rely to wait for the artists that they like. Time passed so fast, it have been night after few hours. However, the race of F1 still on going so, the fans still need to wait again. The opening concert started after the race of F1 finished P1 and P2. Lastly, they have finished the race around 11 pm. Soon the band came out and started to played the music. Finally, BIGBANG appeared on the stage. The fans started to shout or even scream for the fan chant. BIGBANG started with song " TONIGHT " as intro of the performances of that day. The zone is full with the yellow crown light stick.

In this opening concert , they have performed more than 90 minutes. The fans were so enjoying the concert and the talking session of them on the stage. The opening concert was fantastic and awesome. Fans started to leave the venue.

In the end, the thanks for those fans who coming to the opening concert for supporting them. The leader of BIGBANG, G-Dragon said that there will be the 2nd World Tour soon and asked the fans to look forward for it. Besides, Taeyang told the fans that he will be release the new solo album soon. They waved and said will meet the fans very soon again.
